Brighter Futures always aims to progress our learners into apprenticeships delivered by Sysco with one of our bank of employers. Sysco has various vacancies open at any time and we actively promote these vacancies to our learners and help them with their applications. Daniel Roberts joined Brighter Futures lacking in confidence despite having achieved good grades at GCSE and started at 6th Form. Brighter Futures course is adapted to our learners needs and Daniels lack of confidence and good grades were highlighted to our tutors. Daniel went out on an extended work placement to give him the confidence to succeed in the workplace and was soon applying to Sysco Apprenticeships. Daniel was successful after interviewing with one of our employers and has been working at Victoria Pharmacy for the last 9 months.

‘Before I joined Brighter Futures I was studying towards my A-Levels at Mosslands 6th Form. I joined Brighter Futures and I completed retail work experience in two separate stores. During my placement my duties included keeping the shop and my work station clean and helping customers with enquiries. My placement helped me gain confidence and improved my customer service skills. I have now progressed onto a Customer Service Apprenticeship with Victoria Pharmacy delivered by Sysco and complete it at the end of the year.
