June 17, 2017Brighter Futures have a number of programmes that focus on equipping our learners with the business skills and knowledge they need to enter the job market in conjunction with the work experience employers want. We have partnered with companies from key growth areas in the city that maintain our learners interest such as the Gaming Industry, the Travel and Tourism Industry and the Make-up and Beauty Industry. By bringing in these local employers we provide a varied curriculum to our learners that keeps them engaged and ensures they have time away from the centre. For Niall’s Business of Gaming programme, Brighter Futures partnered with Ripstone Limited, famous for their work with Sony on the smash hit game Little Big Planet, to educate him on the background business knowledge needed to succeed.
"I joined Brighter Futures as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do once I finished School. Brighter Futures gave me some direction and helped me decide what I wanted to do in the future. While I was at Brighter Futures I completed a Business Qualification which focused on business but with a Gaming backdrop. I also sat refreshers for my maths and English and attended a work placement at Resurrection on Bold Street. My duties included processing stock and liaising with customers. I learnt how to work effectively within a team and became more confident in a working business environment. Since I finished with Brighter Futures I have been successful in gaining an apprenticeship in Business Administration and am putting in maximum effort in order to learn as much as I can and get full time employment!"
